Amherstburg Historic Sites & Interpretive Centres
An 18th century outpost of the British Empire with original earthworks, restored barrack, museum and orientation centre. Site focuses on the War of 1812 and the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837-1839.
Built in 1798 overlooking the Detroit river, the Gordon House is fully restored and is the headquarters for the Project H.M.S. Detroit, which has undertaken to build and maintain a full-size sailing replica of the ship. It houses a Marine exhibit.
